Vocational Instructor - Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - S License (On-Call)
Job Summary
Qualifications
- A valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (Maintenance “M1”/“M2” or Structures “S” rating).
- An undergraduate degree and post-secondary teaching experience are preferred; however, applicants with an equivalent combination of teaching and work experience may be considered. Aviation teaching experience would be an asset.
- An Instructor’s Diploma or valid BC Teacher’s Certificate appropriate to the instructional assignment is preferred, and will be required following appointment in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
- Six to ten years recent relevant experience in some or all of the following:
- Fixed wing background or experience on general aviation and/or large transport category aircraft
- Rotary experience in Bell 204/205/206/ or Airbus AS350 aircraft
- Aircraft structural repair experience related to sheet metal, composite, wood/fabric and Boeing aircraft structural designs.

- Other functions related to instruction
Professional duties may include any or all of the following:
- Curriculum development
- Student registration
- Pre-registration duties
Service may include any or all of the following:
- School visitations
- Participation on OC committees
- Attendance at articulation meetings
- Representing OC at other functions
- Administrative and other duties
Professional development activity that is intended to promote teaching excellence, subject area competence, and technical competence in the area of professional or instructional expertise.
