Qualifications

Education: Completion of secondary school is required.

Experience: Completion of a four-year automotive service technician apprenticeship program or a combination of over four years of work experience and industry courses in automotive technology is required.

• A valid driver’s license (class 5) is required for vehicle testing and driving.
• Experience in diagnose and repair of passenger cars is required.
• Experience operating diagnostic and scan tools is required.
• Experience with all automotive shop tools and equipment is required.
• Being eligible to obtain the Automotive Service Technician Red Seal certificate is a strong asset.

Area of specialization: Engine repair, Electrical and electronic system, Diagnostics; Alignment, steering and suspension; Brake system, Fuel and emission system, Ignition and electrical system, Automatic transmission, Standard transmission, Engine repair and overhaul, Drive train components, Front end components; Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system.

Language: English is required

Description/Duties

Job Duties:

• Road test motor vehicles in which repairs, diagnostics and maintenance has been performed to identify concerns and ensure quality control
• Test automotive systems and components
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
• Repair or replace mechanical units or components
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
• Perform scheduled maintenance service
• Test drive customers’ vehicles after service and/or repairs are completed
• Diagnose, repair and perform maintenance requirements in accordance to manufacturer guidelines
• Diagnose and report existing conditions and additional repairs to the appropriate parties

Salary: Flat rate is $25.00 to $40.00 per hour dependent on experience and qualifications

Important Information:  The worker will be required to work 8-hour scheduled within our business operating hours, from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
