Job Summary
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in welding.
- Certificate of Apprenticeship with Interprovincial (Red Seal) endorsement.
- Six to ten years of recent, relevant industry experience.
- Strong commitment to learner-centered teaching practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning.
Description/Duties
As a Vocational Instructor – Welding, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, mentoring students, and contributing to curriculum development. Your expertise will support students in acquiring the technical and professional skills necessary to succeed in the welding industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and assess students in welding courses.
- Develop and revise course materials to ensure industry relevance.
- Advise and support students in their academic and career development.
- Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on student work.
- Participate in curriculum development and instructional planning.
- Represent Okanagan College at industry and academic events.
