Job Summary
Qualifications
Projects throughout Whistler, Pemberton and Squamish require the help of labourers, carpenters, drywallers and trades of all experience levels. They require good physical fitness, willingness to get your hands dirty and work hard, plus a great attitude. Some projects are long-term throughout the winter!
Description/Duties
Whistler Personnel uses a progressive pay system that awards pay increases based on the number of Successful Shifts completed. The more you work with us, the more you get paid per hour! HIGHER WAGES are also available for Red Seal Certified painters or Team Leads, and many shifts include extra bonuses per hour. All wages also include 4% vacation pay. Ask us for more details! *Initial shifts will be used to verify qualifications.
- DATES: Shifts available on Weekdays on an ongoing basis
- HOURS: Varying start times between 730 am-9 am for 6-9 hours.
- LOCATION: Squamish, Whistler & Pemberton
- WAGES: $27-$44/hr + 4% vacation pay with experience
POSITION: Certified Trades/Journeymen (Red seal/+6yrs exp)
DUTIES: Responsibilities may include but aren’t limited to performing layout, material take off, planning sequences, reading blueprints/plans, building scaffolding & construction structures, all aspects of installation for commercial/residential renovations.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Must have solid specialized skills as well as prior experience working independently in a similar senior role. Prior experience at renovations and ability to read plans required. Trustworthy and hardworking. Physically fit, mobile and able to lift heavy loads from time to time (up to 50 lbs). Friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Steel toed or sturdy work boots, work gloves and basic hand tools required.
WAGE: $40-$44/hr + 4% vacation pay
- Tier (New hire) = up to $40/hr
- Tier2 (After 10 shifts) = up to $42/hr
- Tier 3 (After 20 shifts) = up to $44/hr
Must provide proof of certification and initial shifts will be used to verify qualifications.
POSITION: Senior Trades/Project Coordinators (6+ years exp)
DUTIES: Site supervisor/lead hand/project coordinator at residential/commercial renovations. Often includes demolition and installation of drywall, floors, cabinets etc.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Must have solid specialized skills as well as prior lead hand or supervisory experience. Prior experience in renovations and the ability to read plans are also very beneficial. Trustworthy and hardworking. Physically fit, mobile and able to lift heavy loads from time to time (up to 50 lbs). Friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Steel toed or sturdy work boots, work gloves and basic hand tools required. Own hand tools required.
WAGE: $38-$42/hr + 4% vacation pay
- Tier (New hire) = up to $38/hr
- Tier2 (After 10 shifts) = up to $40/hr
- Tier 3 (After 20 shifts) = up to $42/hr
POSITION: Skilled Trades/Carpenters/Drywallers (3+ years exp)
DUTIES: Assisting with traditional carpentry duties, including framing, finishing, interior and exterior cupboard work, general labour and basic construction duties at a job site, and pitching in where needed.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Must have 3+ years carpentry and/or drywalling/trades and hand tools experience. Physically fit, mobile and able to work on your feet for the duration of the shift. Friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Steel-toed or sturdy work boots. Work gloves and basic hand tools recommended.
WAGE: $30-$34/hr + 4% vacation pay
- Tier (New hire) = up to $30/hr
- Tier2 (After 10 shifts) = up to $32/hr
- Tier 3 (After 20 shifts) = up to $34/hr
POSITION: Junior Trades/Carpenters/Drywallers (1-2 years specialized exp)
DUTIES: Assisting with traditional carpentry duties, including framing, finishing, interior and exterior cupboard work, general labour and basic construction duties at a job site, and pitching in where needed.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Must have basic carpentry and/or drywalling/trades experience (1-2 years experience) and experience with hand and power tools. Physically fit, mobile and able to work on your feet for the duration of the shift. Friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Steel-toed or sturdy work boots. Work gloves and basic hand tools recommended.
WAGE: $27-$31/hr + 4% vacation pay
- Tier (New hire) = up to $27/hr
- Tier2 (After 10 shifts) = up to $29/hr
- Tier 3 (After 20 shifts) = up to $31/hr
