Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license.
- Interprovincial trades qualification (TQ) in Plumbing with a Red Seal endorsement.
- Class B Gasfitter License.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a variety of plumbing work.
- Sufficient physical strength and health to perform the duties of the position are required.
- Sprinkler Fitter Journeyman Certificate is an asset.
- Cross Connection Control Certificate is an asset.

Plumber - Afternoon Shift

Surrey Schools an exciting opportunity in our Plumbing department! Reporting to the Manager of Mechanical Maintenance within the Facilities Division, the Plumber Tradesperson is responsible for a variety of projects including renovations, repairs, and new installations in over 140 school district sites and offices. The successful applicants must be a team-player ready to be prepared to work effectively in a small team, as well as independently, along side all in-house trades to complete top quality work in various District facilities. Experience and training in institutional facilities is a bonus!
Surrey Schools prides itself on providing our facilities staff with excellent work-life balance. This Plumbing position works 37.5 hours per week on afternoon shift beginning at 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday only.
*This is an AFG position in the Plumbing Maintenance Department. Annual Facilities Grant positions are annual renewal, full-time positions. The start date for this AFG position is as soon as possible.

This is a unionized position that offers an hourly wage rate of $40.65 per hour plus a liberal benefit package including pension, health, vacation, and sick benefits.
