Job Summary
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 7+ months of previous experience in construction or carpentry (e.g., construction labourer, apprentice carpenter)
- Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and materials
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors and journeyman carpenters.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites within the Metro Vancouver area (Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, North & West Vancouver, Tri-Cities)
- Safety-conscious mindset and adherence to safety regulations.
- Ability to work in an English-speaking work setting
Description/Duties
GOULD QUALITY CONSTRUCTION LTD. is a reputable and established renovation company providing full-range construction services for new builds and renovations in the Metro Vancouver area. We are seeking 1-2 Apprentice Carpenters to join our team.
Job Title: Apprentice Carpenter
Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Wage: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience
Vacation: 10 days paid vacation
Benefits: Group Health Benefits (Life/Health/Dental)
Job Summary: As an apprentice carpenter, you will work under the supervision of experienced carpenters to learn the skills and techniques necessary for a successful career in carpentry. You will assist with various tasks on construction sites, including measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing materials. This position offers hands-on training and the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in carpentry.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with the setup and clean-up of work areas.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Measure and cut materials to specified measurements.
- Assist in the assembly of structures and fixtures, such as doors, windows, cabinets, and furniture.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols on the job site.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
