Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber, Class B level Gas Fitter's License with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of BC.
• Valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, British Columbia Section.
• Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.

• Repair, maintain and install plumbing systems, fixtures, apparatus, control equipment and piping used in medical gases, lab gases, water supply, fire protection systems, and waste drainage systems throughout the Hospital.
• Inspect and test cross connection and backflow prevention systems.
