Work Location: Same as above and different locations throughout British Columbia.
Type of Employment: Full Time – Seasonal / 6-month contract
Estimated Start Date: Mid-March 2024
Job Description:
- Load, unload and transport (drive) construction materials among different locations throughout British Columbia
- Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
- Mix, pour and spread materials
- Assist heavy equipment operators
- Pave and rake asphalt
- Assist in demolishing concrete structures/constructions
- Clean and pile salvaged materials
- Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
- Take direction from supervisors to perform various labour tasks (i.e. perform setup and cleanup, jackhammering, pressure washing, pouring concrete)
Salary: $24.00 per hour, 30 – 57 hours per week.
Benefits: Extended Health Care (effective after 300 hours of work), Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate. Transportation to and from work sites provided by employer, and motel accommodation is provided by the employer, at no cost, when the workers have to work in different locations. Learning/training paid by employer. Specialized Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and uniforms are provided (except for steel-toe boots). Living out allowance when workers are out of Kamloop, BC is provided. Vehicle provided by the employer for work-related matters.
Important information: The typical schedule during projects includes 10 hours of work per day, 6 days a week. The regular work schedule will be from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (including a lunch break of 30 unpaid minutes and 2 paid coffee breaks of 15 minutes each). Flexibility on schedule is required as some days will start earlier and other finish later based on the business needs. Some night shifts may be required. Weekend work and overtime is required. **We guarantee at least 30 hours of work per week regardless of the weather.
