HVAC Technician
Job Summary
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a secondary school graduation program or equivalent.
- Completion of B.C. Trades Qualification or Inter-Provincial Certificate in HVAC/Refrigeration.
- Must have a Class "B" gas ticket. A Class "A" gas ticket is an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years recent experience working in the trade. Skill in the use of tools of the trade.
- Familiarity and experience working with DDC systems, HVAC c ontrols, and hydronic heating systems.
- Must have knowledge and experience maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of heat pumps.
- Experience servicing boilers would be considered an asset.
- Ability to read blueprints, specifications and control schematics.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain a large variety of machinery.
- Valid B.C. Driver's Licence. Safe driving record.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
- Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Ability to use judgement when providing information.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a crew.
- Current and thorough knowledge of related standards, practices, regulation, codes and methods.
- Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations. Safe work habits.
- Some positions may require the knowledge of a language otherthan English.
Description/Duties
SUMMARY:
Reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager and the Mechanical Manager and works under the direction of the Foreman - Mechanical. Performs maintenance, repair, alteration, and installation tasks including renovations and modifications on HVAC systems. Performs minor elements of other trades.
