Job Summary
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Secondary school graduation program or equivalent. Has a BC or inter-provincial journeyman Millwright Ticket.
- A Class "B" or "C" welding ticket would be considered an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years recent related experience. Skill in the use of tools of the trade.
- Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
- Valid B.C. Driver's Licence.
- Safe driving record.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
- Current and thorough knowledge of related standards, practices, regulations, codes and methods.
- Ability to work independently and work as a member of a crew.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
- Safe work practices.
- Additional skills in the area of welding and fabrication are desirable.
Description/Duties
SUMMARY:
Reports to the Manager - Mechanical or Manager - Continuous Improvement and works under the direction of the Forman of Mechanical Services. Performs maintenance, repair, alteration and installation tasks, including renovations and modifications. May perform minor elements of other trades. Performs minor repairs and complete preventative maintenance on district owned equipment: compressors, dust collectors, saws, planers, lathes, cutting tables, etc.
Establish preventive maintenance schedule.
