Seasonal Grounds Equipment Operator
Job Summary
Qualifications
Applicants will be required to have the following:
- Completed grade 12 or equivalent;
- A valid unrestricted class 5 BC driver’s license with a safe driving record;
- Relevant experience and training in the operation of light, mobile, self-propelled equipment;
- Experience operating a tractor is an asset;
- Experience performing general labour in an outdoor grounds or parks environment;
- Landscape maintenance and/or construction experience is an asset.

Are you passionate about horticulture and grounds maintenance? Do you love working with a variety of outdoor equipment and tools including mowers and string-trimmers?
The Surrey School District’s Grounds department is seeking temporary full time semi-skilled workers to join their team for the busy grass cutting season with flexible start dates commencing as early as March 2023. Duties of this position typically will include maintaining fields and grounds using lightweight equipment such as push and ride-on mowers and string-trimmers; loading and unloading trailers; transporting equipment to work sites and other assigned duties to help this very busy department.
This is a unionized position that offers up to a 37.5 hour work week with an hourly wage rate of $24.30.
