Job Summary
Qualifications
To qualify as a Carpenter, you will have completed or be enrolled in the 3rd/4th year of a Red Seal Carpenter ticket, or have a minimum of 5 years' experience working in the field as a non-ticketed carpenter. An acceptable combination of education and work experience will be considered.
For the role of Carpentry Helper, you will join us with a minimum 1 year of experience working in construction. Most importantly, you are an inquisitive individual eager to learn the ins and outs of the trade.
The following is also essential to your success:
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Come with full PPE (steel toed boots, high-vis vest, hard hat, gloves, safety eyewear)
- Be dependent and consistent - show up on time and ready to work!
- Valid First Aid level 2 (asset)

Description/Duties
Stretch Construction currently has opportunities for multiple Carpenters and Carpentry Helpers of various skill levels, to join our team on a full-time basis in Kelowna, BC. This is a large ongoing project due for completion in December 2023, with the possibility for long-term employment in other projects, based on performance.
With the guidance and mentorship of our Operations Team, some of your key responsibilities as a Carpenter will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in a variety of carpentry tasks, including installing, assembling, inspecting, and repairing frameworks to structures
- Ensuring the layout of the structure is as per the architectural/structural building plans and sketches
- Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws
- Following established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment
- Inspecting, maintaining, and reporting hazardous work environment and cleaning up worksite debris
As a Carpentry Helper, some of your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in a variety of carpentry tasks that require form and execution
- Be mechanically inclined and proficient with trade tools and materials necessary to the job
- Hold a concern for safety & familiarity of construction site safety protocol
