- Must be flexible and accept assignments on short notice

ON-CALL CUSTODIAN
Hourly Rate: $27.38 ($24.02 plus 14% in lieu of benefits)

We are seeking individuals for On-Call custodial work with the Vancouver Board of Education. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently, and as a team member, are essential. Although this position is On-Call, it is busy and there are regular assignments available throughout the year.
Shifts:
- During the school year (September to June) Monday to Friday shifts are generally from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm or from 3:00 pm to 11:00pm
- During the Summer and Winter break shifts are generally from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm

For Permanent Positions:
We are seeking On-Call custodians with a 4th or 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate or a recognized Power Engineering Program Certificate. If hired, you would have access to apply to the following permanent postings:
- Assistant Head Custodian (AHC)
- Head Custodian (HC)
- Assistant Building Engineer 1 (ABE1)
All permanent positions include a comprehensive benefits package (extended health, dental and municipal pension plan)
A 5th class Power Engineering Certificate qualifies you for all of the above positions.
A minimum of a 5th class Power Engineering Program meets the qualifications for the AHC and HC
If you have not completed your 4th or 5th class certification, there are some opportunities to complete your firing time with the VSB
