Cable Technician
Job Summary
Qualifications
For this role, we are looking for self-motivated individuals with a can-do attitude and the proactivity to find solutions to problems as they arise. Our ideal candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, be able to work well under pressure, and have a strong focus on providing quality workmanship.
For this role, it is imperative that you have the ability to reliably travel by your own means to different work sites within the Lower Mainland, with a valid driver's license or by public transit. You will also be able to successfully clear and maintain a mandatory government security clearance check.
Previous experience working in construction projects or trades in any capacity will be considered an asset, as will any relevant post-secondary education related to telecommunications, or certifications on any related equipment/products. Most importantly, we are looking for individuals who want to learn and grow within the communications field with the mentorship of our experienced leaders.
Description/Duties
Your essential responsibilities in this role will include but not be limited to:
- Setting up ladders and preparing cables and materials for use
- Installing, pulling, and testing of structured and network cabling
- Terminating cable ends using various hand and power tools
- Splicing, repairing, and replacing existing cabling as needed
- Documenting work completed according to job specifications
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Working on projects from beginning to end, alone or as part of a team
